By default, every analysis, heuristic, and principle omits something. They’re useful because they generally omit the right things. However, that’s also inherently the limitation.

Similarly, you can consider what you think of your circumstances, other people, and yourself, as a very limited model. And what other people think of you is their vision of your mask, not always your face.
