Skateboarders bring a video camera to document the moment. They’ve done this since way before social media, so it wasn’t just about going viral. It was an inherent part of the practice.
Blogging is the same way. You’re writing, and while it’s public and documented, you’re not doing it for someone else.
You’re doing it for yourself, maybe your friends, and for the slight possibility that it hits one or two other people in the future at just the right time.
