It’s not very likely your blog post will go viral. There is no status, money, or recognition to gain from writing a blog. Here’s what remains:
- Understanding yourself
- Creating a deeper connection with fewer people
- Helping someone else with a problem that you’ve solved
I’ve recently been reminded of how sincere and vulnerable that people who write blog posts choose to be. I find it rare even for many of my friends, many of whom I have known for decades, to express this level of honesty (and for me to do the same). I just read three authors write about how they can’t sleep at night, how they spiral after using social media, how they cried when they failed at their dream.
These don’t feel like ploys to draw the reader’s attention to achieve virality. There’s no hook, the headline is very ordinary. It feels honest.
