A little bit of personal beats a lot of personalization. I’d be willing to bet that a trained salesperson who built rapport with you will be more effective than an abandoned cart email, even though the latter is most scalable.

- A personal trainer might encourage you to send them your food photos at no extra cost.
- An author like Derek Sivers might reply to everyone who emails him. (He does not answer questions.)
None of these require CRMs or complicated routing systems; they just involve people supporting other people, and opening channels of communication.
