In order to help my book find more readers, I attend events. I bring books and give away free copies. When my shoulders strain from the weight of the books in my backpack, and I wonder if there’s an easier way to do this, my mind goes to Rich Paul selling clothes out of the trunk of his car.
When there is an opportunity to make an announcement, I get up on stage and pitch my book. Here’s a photo from a recent Creative Mornings event in Toronto:

Otherwise, with the organizer’s permission, I place the books on a table in the common area. Once, before I could finish closing up my backpack, someone was already leafing through a copy.
Get out there, where the customers are!
