A journal’s purpose

Every journal exists for one purpose: for someone to fill it up.

You can fill up a journal in many ways. Here are some: writing, drawing, collage, painting, or coloring.

Once the journal is full, it has achieved its purpose and it quietly transforms into a book.

You can choose to dispose of it, keep it for review, or publish parts of it to the world so other people can read it.

A journal won’t judge you, so you don’t need to try to keep up appearances. Forget being polite, cool, or interesting. Just be yourself.

Either way, there is no wrong way to fill up a journal. And there is always time.
