If you publish your work at a blog, very few people are going to read it.
There is an advantage to this: your source of feedback is more introspective. Posting your work at a blog trains you to focus on your own responses to your work. You learn to focus on the process, not the outcome. You will feel looser and lighter, more willing to publish everything, and more energized to write.
There is also a disadvantage to this: you will receive very little—if any—external feedback. If you want to generate awareness for your work, you will need to spend extra energy to promote it. Sometimes, outcomes are important, and if that’s what you’re seeking, then you may be better off publishing at a social platform or securing a guest post somewhere more established.
