Cultivating honesty

One nice thing about posting every day is there’s no time to be dishonest or inauthentic.

If you have fewer than 15 minutes, you can’t dawdle. You can’t tinker around, or worry about your legacy, or how you’ll come off to your reader. Every minute you spend not writing is a chance you risk not publishing that day.

Of course, it only feels like that on stressful days; which is more a reflection of your experience of your day than the actual need to write.

On the flip side, you could also consider that there’s less time to truly investigate; perhaps a dishonest belief you hold will present itself. You’re being authentic, but the belief hasn’t been examined yet, so you don’t know you’re being dishonest.

Either way, writing it is a good way to have a look.

Chaotic, creative, energy really benefits from structure. Two sides to the same coin.

“Greatness is consistency driven by a deep love of the work.” ― Maria Popova
