While I don’t often do lists like this, I came across some particularly delightful work last week. Enough to mark a special occasion. Here’s an unordered, unbulleted, list:
Clipse’s reunion album, Let God Sort Em Out, is very good. So is the rollout. What success looks like, to Malice: “Catering to the people that were waiting for us, who stuck around, who always have shown us support.” To Pusha: “It’s about just giving the people quality… So either you like this, or you like that—you like Clipse, or you like whatever it is, but you have quality to pick from.” I liked this!
Caroline Crampton is done with social media, and writes a blog now. One excerpt, “Plenty of peers that I spoke to with online creative businesses were happy to share their experiences of withdrawing partially or fully from social media (for all sorts of reasons including harassment, burnout and parenting) only to find that their sales were largely or even entirely unaffected the next time they had a project to promote.”
Seth Godin’s notes to himself. I typed these out. They are very useful mottos.
Brie Wolfson’s feature on Kevin Kelly. This one is super, super, good. It feels very relatable to me, and it resonates deeply.
Henrik Karlsson’s essay on agency. It was a delight for me to come across his work, as he also used the phrase “longcut” and often also posts fine art to accompany his writing.
