It’s always best to know the pros and cons before diving headfirst into any platform. Overall, I always recommend that writers have their own website that they own & control 100%, and use that as home base for which to publish their work., and then just syndicate to the rest (or share a teaser or slightly unique version) so that all roads lead back to your Home Base “Your Website”.

This will prevent these third-party platforms from getting in between you and your followers as you’ve indicated. Things may be gravy at first, but it seems all of these social networks and third-party platforms start putting on the chokehold eventually.
